Suzanne Vega Announces New Album “Flying with Angels”, Shares New Song “Speakers' Corner”
American singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega has announced her upcoming tenth studio album “Flying with Angels” will be released on May 2, 2025.
This marks her first studio album in 11 years since the 2014 album “Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles”.
From the album, she unveiled a new song “Speakers' Corner” along with an animated music video on March 4, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Rats” released last September.
It was written by Suzanne Vega, and Gerry Leonard who also produced the track. The accompanying video was directed by Michael Arthur.
Suzanne Vega said of the song, “That's something you don't want in democracy: the shutting down of the Speakers' Corner where people get a say. This is a moment in time when people are saying a lot, but sometimes they're not making sense or not telling the truth. People should be accountable for what they say. They can't just lie. One would think that that would be self-evident.”- The album comprises 10 songs, produced by Gerry Leonard.
She said of the album, “Flying With Angels is my first studio album of new songs in eleven years. Each song on the album takes place in an atmosphere of struggle. Struggle to survive, to speak, to dominate, to win, to escape, to help someone else, or just live.” - source : Apple Music
