Scowl Releases New Song “Tonight (I'm Afraid)”
American hardcore punk band Scowl, consisting of Kat Moss (vocals), Cole Gilbert (drums), Malachi Greene (guitar), Bailey Lupo (bass), Mikey Bifolco (guitar), released a new song “Tonight (I'm Afraid)” on March 4, 2025.
The song is the fourth single off of their upcoming sophomore album “Are We All Angels”, which is set to be released on April 4, 2025 via Dead Oceans.
It was written by Scowl and produced by William Yip. The accompanying flip book music video was created by Adam Fuchs, who drew 800 and 12 pens later.
The new album comprises 11 songs, produced by William Yip at Studio 4 Recording in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, and is marked by alienation, grief, and the loss of control.
At every turn on the album, the band explores ambitious new directions and bends genre norms.
The band bassist Bailey Lupo said of the album, “The song writing on the new record was the most collaborative to date in Scowl’s history. Everyone brought so many ideas to the table and we were able to dissect it all and take our time. We all have such eclectic tastes, influences and personalities and you can really hear that in every corner on this album.”- Drummer Cole Gilbert said woking with producer Will Yip, “Will would say, 'Everything you have here is correct, but it's in the wrong place.'”
Lead singer Kat Moss added, “Will really helped restructure a lot of the material. Some songs he tore apart to make more space for the really good hooks and choruses.” -
