Hiromi Releases New Song “Pendulum” featuring Sonicwonder & Michelle Willis
Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi released a new song “Pendulum” on February 28, 2025.
The song is the second single off of her upcoming 13th studio album “OUT THERE”, which is set to be released on April 4, 2025.
The track features her band Sonicwonder and Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Michelle Willis.
This version of the song is one of two takes of the song on the new album, the other being a solo piano rendition.
The track was written by Hiromi and Michelle Willis. Produced by Hiromi.
Hiromi said of the song, “The song is about life. The come and go of it. Life is like a wave, or like a kind of pendulum. You have to go with the flow.”
Michelle Willis said, “I'm so chuffed that Pendulum by Hiromi is out. A year ago she asked me to work on the words with her, and this past summer I got to record it with her and the band. I loved working together on this and getting hear her roar on piano.”- The new album is its four-part suite, and comprises 9 songs. It is her first album in two years since the 2023 album “Sonicwonderland”.
The album captures their deep chemistry and fearless sense of interplay amid nearly two years of touring and playing together.
Hiromi would like fans to hear as a focused front-to-back listen. -
