Mayday Parade Releases New Song “Towards You”
American rock band Mayday Parade, consisting of Derek Sanders (vocals), Jake Bundrick (drums), Alex Garcia (guitar), Brooks Betts (guitar) and Jeremy Lenzo (bass), released the third single called “Towards You” from their upcoming eighth studio album “Sweet” on February 27, 2025.
The album is set to be released on April 18, 2025.
The song offers a heartfelt, stripped-down love song that showcases the band’s timeless songwriting.
It was written by Alex Garcia, Brooks Betts, Derek Sanders, Jake Bundrick, and Jeremy Lenzo. Produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, who produced as with their previous singles “Pretty Good To Feel Something” and “By The Way”.
The band frontman Derek Sanders said of the song, “‘Towards You’ is really just a simple love song. Sometimes all you need is an acoustic guitar, some singing, and some strings to tell someone how much you love them.”- The new album is the first chapter in a trilogy. After the release of “Sweet”, two additional installments in the coming months
The new three-part album is also their first self-released collection since the 2006 EP “Tales Told By Dead Friends”.
The album comprises 8 songs, produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount.
Derek Sanders said of the album, “Being a band for 20 years feels big and we wanted to do something big to match that. Our next release will be a large album split up into three different parts. It feels like a challenge and an exciting step forward for the band. Our goal is to take the things we’ve learned and the ways we’ve grown and apply them towards an ambitious release.” -
The band embarks on Confirmed Mayday Parade 20-Year Anniversary Tour. The tour kicks off at Jannus Live in St Petersburg, FL on April 22 and will conclude at When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, NV on October 18, 2025.

Guitarist Alex Garcia said of the tour, “This tour is the culmination of the band's career for the past 20 years, and as such, we really wanted to go all out and provide our fans with a memorable and very special experience. We will be celebrating our deep music catalog starting at this band's inception and continuing with our new releases this year. We are all very proud of what we've done, and when I say we, I mean the five of us, our crew – touring, production, and administrative – and, most importantly, you, the fans. Everyone always says that without you, we couldn't do this, and I know that sounds like a cliche at this point, but that sentiment is repeated because of its literal and figurative truth. While we may “make” the music you enjoy, your energy and support fuel this dream. We look forward to seeing you at these shows and celebrating the past 20 years with us.”
