The Knocks & Dragonette Team Up for New Song “The Hero”
New York-based electro-pop duo The Knocks, consisting of Ben Ruttner and James Patterson, teamed up with Canadian singer-songwriter Dragonette again to release a new song “The Hero” on February 26, 2025.
The song is the their second collaborative song of 2025, following “Revelation” released last month.
Two songs mark the first collaboration in three years between The Knocks and Dragonette since the 2022 collaborative song “Slow Song”.
The track is accompanied by the Ben Ruttner-directed music video.
It was written by Benjamin Ruttner, James Patterson, Kaelyn Behr, and Martina Sorbara. Produced by The Knocks and Styalz Fuego.
Dragonette said of the song, “This song is about the banality of how a relationship can turn cold. When it's not a dramatic explosion of betrayal or strong emotions that crash together. It's about finding yourself in the midst of something else, unseen and unknowable making the question 'is this working' hard to answer.”- Last month, The Knocks said, “Inside all of us is a glowing light. At Revelation Technologies, we encourage everyone to shine their brightest. Our latest product, 'Revelation' is guaranteed to guide you in even the darkest of nights.”
