Corey Taylor & Bad Omens Cover Kansas' “Dust in the Wind” from New Film “Queen of the Ring” Soundtrack
American heavy metal band Slipknot's frontman Corey Taylor and American heavy metal band Bad Omens teamed up to release a cover of American rock band Kansas' “Dust in the Wind” from the upcoming biopic “Queen of the Ring” soundtrack.
The original version of the song was released by Kansas as the second single from their fifth studio album Point of Know Return in 1978.
The single reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The track was written by Kerry Livgren. The cover version was produced by Aaron Gilhuis.
The cover version features Corey Taylor on vocals, Noah Sebastian (Bad Omens) on vocals, Danny Donnelly on slide guitar and Nick Pynn on fiddle.- The film “Queen of the Ring” chronicles the life of revolutionary female wrestler Mildred Burke, who shattered barriers in the 1930s-1950s to become the first million-dollar female athlete and headline arenas over male competitors in a time when women's wrestling was outright banned across much of the U.S.
The film was directed by Ash Avildsen, starring Emily Bett Rickards, Josh Lucas, Kelli Berglund and Walton Goggins.
It is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 7, 2025. The soundtrack is set to be released on the same day via Sumerian Records. - Sumerian Records was formed by filmmaker Ash Avildsen and recently was nominated the 2025 Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performance category, featuring avant-garde singer Poppy.
