Momma Releases New Song “Bottle Blonde”
Brooklyn-based indie rock band Momma, consisting of Allegra Weingarten (vocals/guitar), Etta Friedman (vocals/guitar), Aron Kobayashi Ritch (bass) and Preston Fulks (drums), released the third single called “Bottle Blonde” from their upcoming fourth studio album “Welcome to My Blue Sky” on February 25, 2025.
The song is accompanied by a music video, which was directed by Momma.
The new album is set to be released on April 4, 2025 via Polyvinyl Records and Lucky Number.
The track was written by Allegra Weingarten, Etta Friedman, and Aron Kobayashi Ritch who also produced it.
The band vocalists Allegra Weingarten and Etta Friedman said of the song, “We wrote this song as a letter to our past selves, when we were 23 and 24, stumbling through an extremely grueling tour that ended up taking a huge toll on our hearts and minds. We both had bleached hair and were in the midst of making huge decisions that would change our lives and also our perceptions of ourselves. The song started out as kind of an affirmation to our younger selves, that everything would be OK if you just follow your heart, but now looking back on it the lyrics could also be read as us talking to each other.”- The album comprises a 12-track, which was recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn and produced by the band bassist Aron Kobayashi Ritch.
This marks their first album in three years since “Household Name”.
Allegra Weingarten and Etta Friedman said of the album, “The past three years have been some of the heaviest, most formative, and most exciting years of our lives. We've kept these stories close to the chest for many years, secrets shared between the two of us - and now we're sharing it with all of you.” -
