Cassia Releases New Song “miles out”
British indie pop band Cassia, consisting of Robert Ellis (guitar/vocals), Louis Cotterill (bass/vocals) and Jacob Leff (drums/vocals), released the fourth single called “miles out” from their upcoming third studio album “everyone, outside” on February 21, 2025.
The album is set to be released on April 11, 2025.
The song is an upbeat, introspective guitar-led anthem, following friends”, “heat” and “antidote”.
It was written by Jacob Leff, Louis Cotterill, and Robert Ellis. Produced by Jacob Leff and Robert Ellis.
The band drummer Jacob Leff said of the song, “This song came from a moment of overthinking a relationship, feeling distant and imagining they’d leave because I was too closed off. Writing Miles Out helped me accept that I'd created that narrative myself. But there’s a lightness in that realisation - an ‘I don’t need you to feel bad’ kind of thing. Looking back, it’s almost funny because none of it was true. This song helped me make sense of where the mind goes when you let it.”- The new album comprises 13 songs, which the band recorded at a studio they built themselves in Macclesfield.
The album's title is a metaphor for embracing your truest self.
The band frontman Robert Ellis said of the album title, “That title, 'everyone, outside' started as a song about how weird it is that we stay inside all the time when being out in nature always makes us feel better. Over time, it came to mean more than that - like a metaphor for being your truest, most natural self, unburdened, like when no one's watching.” - source : Apple Music
