Dove Cameron Returns with New Song “Too Much”
American singer-songwriter Dove Cameron returned with a new song “Too Much” on February 21, 2025.
The song is her first music since the 2023 album “Alchemical: Volume 1”.
Also, it is the first single off of her upcoming album, which still doesn’t have a set release date.
The track features dance pop music unlike her previous songs.
Dove Cameron told Billboard about new genre, “I didn't think I could make happy music as a previously unhappy person, and this record was really healing for me in that way. I just granted myself permission to remove all the judgments that I had around pop music and dance music. I'm having more fun than ever.”
It was written by Dove Cameron, Madison Love, Victoria Zaro, and Tyler Spry who also produced the track.
Dove Cameron said of the song, “I wrote this song based on a lifelong experience of feeling like I was 'too much' wherever I went. I also wrote it for anyone who has ever been told to take up less space or dim their light for the comfort of others.”- She continued, “It's served as a mantra for me - that I never need to make myself smaller to fit someone else's expectation of me, and that anyone who asks me to is not someone who wants the best for me, like I want the best for them. 'Too Much' is really about owning your right to your power and your wholeness and learning not to abandon pieces of yourself for anyone, no matter the relationship. If you've ever been told that you're too much, what they were really trying to say is that they are not capable of holding your hugeness. And that is not a room any of us need to be in. Be huge. In a bigger room.”
