Annie Dressner Premieres New Song “For The Thrill Of It” featuring Kathryn Williams on BBC Radio 6
UK-based American singer-songwriter Annie Dressner is back. She premiered a new song “For The Thrill Of It” on BBC Radio 6 Music Riley & Coe.
The song is her first music since the fourth studio album “I Thought It Would Be Easier”, which was released last April.
On the track, she teamed up with British singer-songwriter Kathryn Williams.
This marks the first collaboration between Annie Dressner and Kathryn Williams.
The track was written and produced by Annie Dressner, with production by Paul Goodwin, who also co-produced her previous album.
The lyrics share an incredibly important message in the music industry from her own personal experience.
Annie Dressner said of the song, “The message in the lyrics is about the pervasive issue of misogyny in the music industry, where inappropriate behaviour too often goes unaddressed or overlooked; the song aims to inspire positive change in attitudes towards women in music and to encourage women to feel safe in speaking out. And even without the serious undertones 'when you're near we should run, run, run...' the song stands on its own.”- She shares on social media, “The song might sound super fun (yes, I believe it does) but it is my response to sexual harassment, in the hopes to spread awareness about the pervasive issue of misogyny in the music industry. Let's make some positive changes. I am not alone in hoping for such things!”
Annie Dressner is currently working on her upcoming fifth studio album, including “For The Thrill Of It”, with producer Peter Bruntnell, which is expected to be released in 2025. -
Annie Dressner will support London-based heartland rock band Danny & The Champions Of The World tour. The tour kicks off at Acapela Studios in Cardiff on March 12th and will conclude at Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth on March 30, 2025.
