Brock Geiger Releases New Song “Early August Rain”
Canadian singer-songwriter Brock Geiger released a new song “Early August Rain” on February 18, 2025.
The song will appear on his upcoming debut album “Some Nights”, which is set to be released on March 18, 2025.
The track is an introspective meditation on acceptance in the face of uncertainty, inspired by both personal upheaval and the devastating Canadian wildfires of recent summers.
Brock Geige recorded the track with producer Will Maclellan in the studio lobby and showcased a unique sonic approach.
Brock Geiger said of the song, “'Early August Rain' was written while I was watching parts of my personal world go up in flames while simultaneously witnessing the wildfires in Canada last summer. This song became an outlet for practicing acceptance in the face of things beyond my control, evolving into a personal anthem of resilience. The title is quite literal, but thematically, I was drawn to the relationship between the natural world, and how we navigate our own storms.”- The new album comprises 10 songs, which were recorded at Sound City in Los Angeles and at Brock’s Studio B in Calgary, AB.
The album features musicians including Matt Chamberlain, Sam Gendel, and Gabe Noel, as well as some of his longest standing collaborators, Clea Anaïs and Kaelen Ohm contributing performances.
Brock Geiger said of the album, “The songs are a representation of the multiplicities of my experiences. I didn’t feel tethered by needing anything to sound a certain way because I wanted the record to be an honest reflection of what I’m interested in.” -
