Alfie Jukes Releases New Song “More Time”
British singer-songwriter Alfie Jukes has announced his upcoming third EP “All Dressed Up For Nothing” will be released on March 21, 2025.
Initially, the EP was supposed to be released on March 7, 2025, but has been pushed back two weeks.
Alfie Jukes said, “I wanted to give you an update on the 'All Dressed Up For Nothing' EP as it's been going through a few changes recently. I've spent the last few months writing so much new music and re-listening to old songs, and it's made me feel that this EP wasn't quite finished... Sooooo the EP will now be coming March 21st. While making it absolutely perfect for you I may have also added an extra song... so it's all good news I promise!!”
From the EP, he released a new song “More Time” on February 14, 2025.
The song received its first play during Radio 1's Future Pop with Maia Beth and is the follow-up to “Boys”, which was released last November.
It was written by Alfie Jukes, and Rich Cooper who also produced the track.- Alfie Jukes said of the song, “'More Time' is all about that bittersweet, scary feeling of change and distance in a relationship. It’s about me kind of, at first, catastrophising the idea of having to miss someone and then making sense of it realising that, actually, things haven’t changed as much as I thought they would. The day of the session, I’d written down in my notepad, 'There’s more time to miss you, which I don’t think is a bad thing', and I really wanted to use that and put a positive twist on the idea of missing someone.”
He continued, “The verse actually hasn’t changed too much [from the first demo] in terms of chords/melodies. We’d found these chords for the verse which I really loved, but I was struggling to write a chorus over it. I was trying to find the right spot for the “You’re still the love of my life” line, which I had also written down, but it wasn’t landing as strong as I wanted. So, we decided to try something completely different. Rich [Cooper] started playing this chord sequence which felt jarring at first ‘cause it just kind of appears out of nowhere, but this is what ended up being the chorus! Once we’d figured out those sections, it all just came together really nicely!”
He added, “We didn’t want anything too complicated [for the bridge]. We wanted to find a sing-along moment, but everything’s quite big up until that point so it needed to be a bit of a breather and a bit of a step back before we launch back into the final chorus.” -
Alfie Jukes embarks on All Dressed Up For Nothing Tour in the UK and Europe. Ben Ellis and Waiting for Smith will support the tour.
The tour kicks off at The Wardrobe in Leeds on April 26th and will conclude at KENT Club in Hamburg, Germany on May 18, 2025.
