Hannah Cohen Releases New Song “Draggin'”
American singer-songwriter Hannah Cohen will release her upcoming fourth studio album “Earthstar Mountain” on March 28, 2025 via Bella Union and Congrats Records.
It marks her firs album in six years since the 2019 album “Welcome Home”.
From the album, she released a new song “Draggin'” on February 18, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the album, following ”Earthstar” released last month.
The track describes the absurdity of family relationships and the struggles that his friends face within them.
It was written by Hannah Cohen and Samuel Griffin Owens. Produced by Sam Evian.
The accompanying music visualizer was directed by Keenan O'Meara.
Hannah Cohen said of the song, “There is a universal truth: Water is wet, the sun rises in the east and your family will drive you to your brink.”- The new album comprises 10 song and features collaborations with Sufjan Stevens, Clairo, Liam Kazar, Oliver Hill and Sean Mullins. It was produced by Sam Evian at Flying Cloud Recordings.
After releasing the 2019 album, Hannah Cohen converted their mid-70s home and barn in Catskills into a studio, Flying Cloud Recordings.
The album is a love letter to the Catskills and in the interconnectedness of all things: in her past, present, future and alternative selves, in her friends and in the mountain that peers through her windows. It is a keepsake of her time in the Catskills, built over the course of 2020-2024.
Also it is an ode to curiosity. Hannah Cohenwill said, “I've always wanted a certain life, but then I also want another kind of life. They both hover over me all the time.” -
