Mumford & Sons Releases New Song “Malibu”
British folk rock band Mumford & Sons, consisting of Marcus Mumford (lead vocals/guitar), Ted Dwane (vocals/bass) and Ben Lovett (vocals/keyboards), released the second single called “Malibu” from their upcoming fifth studio album “RUSHMERE” on February 18, 2025.
The album is set to be released on March 28, 2025 via Glassnote.
The song follows the album title track, which was released last month.
It was written by Ben Lovett, Marcus Mumford, and Ted Dwane. Produced by Dave Cobb and Mumford & Sons.
The band leased singer Marcus Mumford said of the song, “'Malibu' was the first song we wrote when we got back together in Los Angeles in January 2023. The song just felt like us, and the process of recording it with Dave [Cobb] captured it on record in a way that made us feel it had to open RUSHMERE. We love it.”- The new album comprises 10 songs, featuring a guest appearance from American singer-songwriter Madison Cunningham.
“Rushmere” is the name of a pond in Wimbledon Common in southwest London where Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane first hung out and imagined the initial idea of putting a band together.
The band recorded the album with producer Dave Cobb at RCA Studio A in Nashville, in Savannah, GA, and at Marcus Mumford's own studio in Devon, England. - source : Apple Music
