Andy Bell Announces New Solo Album “Ten Crowns”, Premieres New Song “Don't Cha Know” on BBC Radio 2
London-based synth-pop duo Erasure's vocalist Andy Bell has announced his upcoming third solo album “Ten Crowns” will be released on May 2, 2025 via Crown Recordings.
It marks his first solo project in six years since the 2019 album “Torsten in Queereteria”.
The album comprises 10 songs, featuring guest appearances from American rock band Blondie's Debbie Harry and Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sarah Potenza, produced by Dave Audé.
From the album, he premiered a new song “Don't Cha Know” on BBC Radio 2 The Scott Mills Breakfast Show.
The track was written by Andrew Ivan Bell, and Dave Audé who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by Stephano Barberis.
The song was one of the first tracks to be written for the album, and, according to Andy Bell, it marks “the beginning of the expedition” that would become the album. Hinting at the emotional journey he has been on.- Andy Bell said of the album, “It's my third (sort of) solo record and in Erasure, our third album was our most successful out of all that we've done, so I'm taking that spirit with me!”
He continued, “I mean, I've got everything I could possibly wish for, you know, I really have, but that's not to say I'm always fulfilled. This album's about picking yourself up, dusting yourself off, embracing life – and about taking that feeling on even when you're fighting demons in the world, like homophobia, and fighting demons in yourself. It's about being celebratory and uplifting.” -
