Lilly Bedard Returns with New Song “Not Everything Ends”
Back in October 2024, American singer-songwriter Lilly Bedard released her sophomore EP “Winter” for the first time in three years since the 2021 debut EP “Break Point”.
Following the EP, she released a new song “Not Everything Ends” on January 27, 2025.
The song is an exploration of love, resilience, and hope, featuring a unique blend of alternative pop and folk pop, enriched by her evocative melodies and raw, poetic lyricism.
It was written by Lillian Elizabeth Bedard, and Noah Katzman. Produced by Cathy Ponce.
Lilly Bedard said of the song, “'Not Everything Ends' is a heartfelt departure from my usual style, blending folk influences with my signature raw and honest lyricism. This song captures my journey from heartbreak to healing, telling the story of finding love that feels like destiny. It's deeply personal, moving from moments of doubt to the joy of being seen and understood. Exploring themes of hope and permanence, it's a reminder that, maybe, just this once, not everything ends.”- She continued, “This past summer, I stayed up until 1 a.m.-which, for me, is ridiculously late-trying to write a song that truly captured what I was feeling. Every progression I played clashed with the words, like they were fighting each other instead of working together. I got so frustrated I nearly scrapped the whole thing. But right when I was about to give up, I found the chord progression-the one that just clicked. I wrote the line, ‘You know it’s the right chord progression when hearing it play makes you cry,’ because that’s exactly what happened. From that moment on, the rest of the song spilled out effortlessly. I finished it in twenty minutes, which never happens, especially not with a love song.”

She added, “I think I've doubted myself when it comes to writing about happiness, and I know people have doubted me too. But 'Not Everything Ends' felt like proof that I can write about love in a way that still feels real to me, and in a way that people will love too. I hope this song is the start of something new-a different side of my songwriting that explores not just the pain of losing something, but the beauty of finding something that lasts.”
She said, “'Not Everything Ends' is my first true love song. I wanted to write a song that could adequately express my gratitude to the universe for bringing me a person I felt safe with even in the most trying of times. I tried to write this song to be like a sigh of relief, a release of pent-up tension, for anyone who has experienced love after loss.” - source : Apple Music
