British singer-songwriter Anne-Marie returned with a new 2-track project “Act 1: If You're Looking For A New Best Friend” on February 14, 2025.
The project consists of two new songs “Don't Panic” and “I Don't Like Your Boyfriend”.
Two songs are her first solo music in two years since the 2023 album “Unhealthy”.
The project delves into the themes of love for oneself, others and the universal quest for meaning.
“Don't Panic” was written by Anne-Marie Nicholson, CASTLE, Connor McDonough, Riley McDonough, and Ryan Daly. Produced by Connor McDonough, Riley McDonough, and Ryan Daly.
It is a raw and powerful song that delves into the chaotic reality of anxiety and inner turmoil.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jocelyn Anquetil.
“I Don't Like Your Boyfriend” was written by Anne-Marie Nicholson, Casey Smith, Conor Blake, Sam Brennan, and Tom Hollings. Produced by Billen Ted.- Anne-Marie said of two songs, “These songs are intended to be the realisation that in searching for a friend, sometimes you're the only friend you'll ever need. Apart from me, I can be your best friend, right!?”
