tibia Releases New Song “Walk on Candy”
Last month, Stockholm-based pop rock duo tibia, consisting of Vide Willemark and Elias Sahlin, announced their upcoming debut album “See what heaven looks like now” would be released on March 14, 2025.
From the album, the duo unveiled the fifth single called “Walk on Candy” on February 11, 2025.
The song serves up a heartfelt missive to any kid feeling misunderstood “in a small town who wants to get the fuck out of there”.
It was written and produced by Elias Sahlin and Vide Wilemark.
The duo said of the song, “This is one of the few of our songs that didn’t start out from us tryna' catch a vibe. Instead we wanted to write a song that could be used like a weighted blanket for sad teens wanting to run far far away from their life. Feeling young and misunderstood sucks! But feeling like that usually means (at least like 70% of the time) that your a fucking star in the making. Your smart enough to see that life is weird and cool enough to want more than what your getting. Nothing makes a star shine brighter than punching through dark times. So walk on Candy, this ain’t a life time after all.”- The debut album comprises 10 songs, including pre-release singles “Loud with you”, “Molly in Mexico”, “Mary's Lifestyle” and “Two weeks of Gloria”, produced by tibia.
Written and produced between Elias Sahlin’s apartment and Vide’s studio, with lyrics and ideas almost always hashed out over beers and shots in local drinking holes, the album is a rough-edged and reckless document of tibia’s first year; embracing hedonism and adventure, breaking free from limitations, and finding joy in every moment. -
The duo said of the album, “Just like everything that is tibia, this album is rooted in our need to let go, to chase kicks and write songs with no hesitation. It’s fun and loud! At the same time it’s also low-key sad and very emotional. Heartbreaks and headaches are the best and worst excuses for a good night out. No regrets. These are songs that we needed. tibia will forever be a cute little band aid to us and anyone having a bad day/week/year/life. Welcome to our heaven.”
