The Awakening Drops New Music Video for “Haunting”
South African gothic rock band The Awakening has dropped a new music video for “Haunting”.
The song is the second single off of their 12th self-titled album, which was released last October via Intervention Arts.
It is establishing The Awakening's return to its dark roots. The track was written and produced by Ashton Nyte.
The video was directed by the band frontman Ashton Nyte. It is the follow-up to the video for “Mirror Midnight”, which amassed over 1.1 million views.
Once again, Ashton Nyte created the music video in his trademark black-and-white format.
Ashton Nyte said of the video, “'Haunting' is a celebration of old-school Gothic Rock, with a suitable dose of Post-Punk swagger and a wink at the camera. It's probably the most whimsical song on the album and one I greatly look forward to playing live later this year. I wanted the video to capture some campy Horror B-Movie goodness, and I am very happy with the result.”- He added, “After the intensity and social commentary of 'Mirror Midnight', it was a lot of fun to create a video on the other side of the spectrum. It is best enjoyed at very high volume!”
The album comprises 12 songs, which were written snd produced by Ashton Nyte, and is a celebration of the band's roots and influences.
It marks their first album in two years since the 2022 double album “The Passage Remains”.
Also the album follows Ashton Nyte's second book and eighth solo album “Autumn's Children”. -
