PUNCHBAG Releases Debut Song “Fuck It”
London-based pop-punk sibling duo PUNCHBAG, consisting of Clara Bach (vocals) and Anders Bach (guitar), released their debut song “Fuck It” on February 10, 2025.
The song is the first release under their new label Mute and follows their self-released track "Pretty Youth", which came out last November.
The track is accompanied by the Joe Gainsborough-directed music video. (only available on YouTube due to age restrictions)
The song is about a life buffeted by anxiety and the fear of wasting time. It was written by Anders Bach, Clara Bach, and Michelle Leonard. Produced by Anders Bach and Clara Bach.
The band lead singer Clara Bach said of the song, “It's not nihilistic. It's more like, we only have so much time, so do the thing you want to do. Kiss the person you want to kiss, say that thing you want to say.”
They added, “Written with our wonderful x100 friend Michelle Leonard in her Berlin flat, it was written one night mostly in one fast stream, there was an urgency with the song n the lyrics because the song is about people's feelings towards the world right now.”- Since their debut, the duo has showcased live performances that collide the raw, unfiltered energy of punk with the overflowing ecstasy of pop on stage.
Clara Bach said, “We take it seriously. We've thought about it a lot, and it was important that from the first time we performed it was fully formed. We're Virgos. We're perfectionists. At the end of the set, I just scream until everyone's jumping. We want it to be cathartic, but also really joyful. Joy is one of the things that you can't really argue with, it's not an opinion – you can either get involved or not.”
Anders Bach added, “We'd rather someone had a strong adverse reaction to our music than it be just played in the background.” -
