  • Emily Saunders Announces New Album “Moon Shifts Oceans”, Shares New Song “Floating”

  • London-based jazz-fusion singer-songwriter Emily Saunders has announced her upcoming third studio album “Moon Shifts Oceans” will be released on March 28, 2025 via The Mix Sounds.

The album is her first body of work in nine years since the 2016 album “Outsiders Insiders”.
From the album, she unveiled a new song “Floating” on February 7, 2025.
The track takes a positive stance on lost love and failed relationships, philosophizing about accepting your own responsibility and the process being a learning experience of self-reflection.
The track was written and produced by Emily Saunders.

Emily Saunders said of the song, “It's a love song with a twist. When a relationship fails - it hurts, but ‘Floating’ is about taking accountability; knowing and accepting your role in the blame game. Realising, 'Oh, that was totally my fault,' taking emotional stock, learning from it, and moving forward. When I write songs like this, I see it all in pictures, and I use words and music to describe the scenes in my imagination.”
  • She continued, “I sing this live paired back with just me on voice and keys, but for this new single I decided to go full-on 'Emily-style' production with multilayered choruses of synth, guitars, and voices, contrasting with 'lone' verses representing an honest, reflective voice telling a story and sharing an experience.”

After the released of last album, she had to dig deep when diagnosed with acute psoriatic arthritis in 2017, leaving her semi-paralyzed, unable to walk, and isolated at home.
Later, she recovered from the trauma of her disability and came out of it with a deeper sound and an album that she engineered herself.
The new album is a creation of beauty, strength, and soul.

  • Emily Saunders said, “It would be easy to ask why me? Why now? But it’s empowering to be free even when everything around you feels like it’s closing in. Focusing on the creative force within can transform each and every one of us. The trick is to keep believing, keep creating, and keep sharing.”
