DARKSIDE Releases New Song “Are You Tired? (Keep on Singing)”
New York-based electronic band DARKSIDE, consisting of Nicolás Jaar (electronics), Dave Harrington (guitar) and Tlacael Esparza (drums), will release their third studio album “Nothing” on February 28, 2025.
From the album, the band released the third single called “Are You Tired? (Keep on Singing)” on February 6, 2025.
The song is a near-seven-minute epic, blending R&B and ’60s pop-rock.
It was written by Dave Harrington, Nicolas Jaar, and Tlacael Esparza. Produced by Dave Harrington, Nicolas Jaar, Tlacael Esparza, and Pantxo Bertin.
The new album comprises 9 songs, which the band recorded in the south of France, Los Angeles, and Paris and built out of improvisational jams.
It is their first album in four years since the 2021 album “Spiral” and is the first release as a trio.- According to a press release, the album title is explained as follows: “For Jaar, this concept of nothing became applicable to other aspects of life. ‘Nothing’ is the reflexive answer when asked about what’s wrong, when there’s too much to even begin to express. In this framework, 'nothing' means its mirror opposite. Or ‘nothing’ can be a damning illustration of the lack of change in the world. The maddening inaction on climate change, the political hypocrisy, and the recurring cycles of violence against the people of Palestine, the Sudan, and elsewhere.”
