Georgia Harmer Returns with New Song “Can We Be Still”
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Georgia Harmer returned with a new song “Can We Be Still” on February 6, 2025.
The song is her first music in three years since the 2022 debut album “Stay In Touch”.
It was written and produced by Georgia Harmer.
The accompanying music video was directed by Talvi Faustmann.
Georgia Harmer said of the song, “'Can We Be Still' is about lifelong best-friendship and striving to protect it from the inevitable changes that come with time. It's about having a shared vision of the future and a desire to preserve it, to see the plan for ever-lasting closeness through.”
She continued, “I wrote it at a time when the future looked very uncertain, and I see it as a devotional anthem about seeing through what you see ahead of you, and not settling for less than your plan. It applies to so many things for me now, and I hope it applies to completely different things for you, but at the time it just came from the simple wish to stay best friends forever with my bff.”- She said of the video, “I went back to my high school eight years after graduating to film a music video for a song I wrote about having one plan for my future. To never lose touch with my best friend, and to keep doing what I love most. It was like I was sending a message to my teen self and letting her know - it's working.”
She added, “We're proud of it and it was actually so healing to twirl around those old hallways and feel so free in a space I spent so many years entangled in teenage-hood.” -
