Chloe Slater Premieres New Song “Sucker” on BBC Radio 1
Manchester-based singer-songwriter Chloe Slater premiered a new song “Sucker” on BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
The song is accompanied by the Tim Raben-directed music video.
The track is featured on her sophomore EP “Love Me Please”, which was released on February 4, 2025.
It was written by Chloe Slater and Jack Shuter. Produced by Shute and Iain Berryman.
Chloe Slater told Sian Eleri about the song, “I've been I've been sat on this song for like, eight years now, so it's really good to have it out in the world. I think a lot of my music is just about my experiences in the world as a 21 year old woman. And sucker is kind of about like when I started speaking out about things in my songs, a lot of older people would comment on it and say things like, you'll change your mind when you get older, or sort of just a phase. So the song is just about how I want to stay true to my beliefs. I don't think I'll ever stop doing that.”- The new EP comprises 5 songs, produced by Shute and Iain Berryman. It is the follow-up to “You Can't Put A Price On Fun”, which was released last May.
Chloe Slater said of the EP title, “It's kind of just like it is taken from one of the songs on it, 'Tiny Screens' its a lyric. It's also fits into the category of I like the idea that all people really want to be loved and accepted, to exist as they want to exist in the world. So I guess the whole EP is kind of just a plea for that to happen some kind of way, whether that's for me or for other people. -
