Pistol Daisys Releases New Song “Crying in Marseille”
Scottish alt-pop band Pistol Daisys, consisting of Belly Rachel (vocals), Lorna Lynne (guitar) and Lewis Kelly (drums), released their third single called “Crying in Marseille” on January 31, 2025.
The song is about the band's vocalist, Belly Rachel's heartbreak in France, crafting a track that’s equal parts empowerment and escapism.
The track was written by Beverly Rachel Matujal and Lorna Lynne Johnston, produced by Lewis Kelly.
The band sais of the song, “‘Crying in Marseille’ tells the tale of getting dumped while on tour. In the middle of playing a festival in France, Lorna (!!!) was given her romantic P45 by a jealous local lad who couldn’t understand why she wanted to go play gigs abroad rather than go with him to the local boozer. To make matters worse, the both of us attracted the attention of local french lads (and lassies), who wouldn’t take no for an answer. So we f*cked off back to our hotel, and we hammered out the tune whilst downing a bottle of local plonk. This anthem is for girls and guys, enabling them to say no at the right time, and realising that a good glass of red wine is much better than a dodgy night out on the razz!”- The band guitarist added, “Sometimes, the best way to deal with heartbreak is to dance through it. And if that fails, there’s always wine!”
