ORA Releases New Song “Life Witness”
Danish indie-pop sibling duo ORA, consisting of Samuel and Lea, released the first single of 2025 called “Life Witness” on January 31, 2025.
The song is inspired by Sister Sledge's 1979 “We Are Family”, with the blessing from Nile Rodgers.
The track highlights their strong sibling bond through a catchy R&B-indie pop sound.
It was written by August Guzo, Bernard Edwards, Jonathan Elkær, Lasse Ziegler, Nile Rodgers, and ORA. Produced by ORA and Jonathan Elkær.
The duo said of the song, “This one is really special to us. It's about our sibling bond, everything that comes with it, and being each other's life witnesses through all the ups and downs.”- Samuel continued, “We wanted to write a song about our relationship—being brother and sister and going through life together, for better or worse. We may not have lived life in the same way growing up, and we are very different people; however, we've kind of seen the world through the same eyes. That's why we've always been there for each other—ever since we walked hand in hand in kindergarten—as each other's life witnesses,”

Lea added, “In the making of 'Life Witness', we knew it was going to be about sibling bonds. Caught by the feeling, Samuel suddenly started to jump around the studio singing 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge. Even though it was just a funny idea, I knew we had to incorporate it and make it our own.”
