THE DRIVER ERA Announces New Album “Obsession”, Shares New Song “Same Old Story”
Los Angeles-base rock duo THE DRIVER ERA, consisting of brothers Rocky Lynch (vocals/guitar) and Ross Lynch (vocals/guitar), has announced their upcoming fourth studio album “Obsession” will be released on April 11, 2025 via TOO Records.
It is their first album in three years since the 2022 album “Summer Mixtape”.
The album comprises 11 songs, produced by Rocky Lynch, Ross Lynch, and Morgan Taylor Reid.
Obsession explores themes of love, longing, and loss through a uniquely captivating sonic profile rife with electric riffs, robust synths, and strong drums.
The band said of the album, “The Obsession era began sometime last year when we started to compile a lot of these songs on a note in our phones...We started to collect all these songs and more that we were really loving and named the folder 'Obsession.' It was the truth of the situation - we were literally obsessed making these songs and just spent hours and hours with lots of love poured into them. 'Obsession' is our entanglement with searching for love and trying to not fall too deep into these bad habits.”- From the album, the band released a new song “Same Old Story” on January 28, 2025.
The song is the fourth single off of the album, following “Touch”, “Don't Walk Away”, and “You Keep Me Up At Night”.
The track blends '80s-inspired tones with modern pop production.
It was written by Ellington Ratliff, Morgan Taylor Reid, Rocky Lynch, and Ross Lynch. Produced by Ross Lynch and Rocky Lynch. -
The band embarks on Obsession Tour in North America, Brazil and Chile. The tour kicks off at War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, FL on March 7th and will conclude at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA on July 18, 2025.
