Black Country, New Road Announces New Album “Forever Howlong”, Shares New Song “Besties”
British rock band Black Country, New Road, consisting of Tyler Hyde (vocals/bass), Lewis Evans (vocals/saxophone), Georgia Ellery (vocals/violin), May Kershaw (vocals/keyboards), Charlie Wayne (drums) and Luke Mark (guitar), has announced their upcoming third studio album “Forever Howlong” will be released on April 4, 2025.
It is the first release after original singer Isaac Wood left the band.
The album comprises 11 songs, which the band recorded with producer James Ford.
The band said of the album, “After two years of writing new music we had a fun time recording the album last autumn with producer James Ford. The artwork is by Jordan Kee.”
The band violinist Georgia Ellery continued, “It created a real through line for the album, having three girls singing. It's definitely very different to 'Ants From Up There', because of the female perspective - and the music we've made also compliments that.”- From the album, the band released a new song “Besties” on January 30, 2025.
The track was written by Charlie Wayne, Georgia Ellery, Lewis Evans, Luke Mark, May Kershaw, and Tyler Hyde. Produced by James Ford.
The song is accompanied by the Rianne White-directed music video.
Director Rianne White said of the video, “'Besties' came into my world with a dance of feelings, with such an understood concept of exploring the core emotion of taking on the world, and its obstacles to be with her, the bestie, again.” -
She continued, “Building this with the band took me to so many memories, informed by a collective of experiences from my childhood writing letters and maps to my bestie, into formulating our own map and sliding-doors effect narrative - charged with the instinctual punch and intuition of - I need to be with my bestie now. Working with Georgia, May and Tyler was a real treat across their performances especially, and quite literally, running from the more conventional lip-sync world, and injecting cameo moments with Charlie, Lewis and Luke. Knee-high in January’s jacket of mud, darkness, fields, street corners and a pack of hounds we found the beating heart of a world made better by chasing love and connection. Shooting in these conditions, and having fun is a real testament to a fantastic team and collective of people! It’s been such a pleasure, this song was love at first harpsichord!”
