Sleigh Bells Returns with New Song “Wanna Start A Band?”
Brooklyn-based noise pop duo Sleigh Bells, consisting of Alexis Krauss (vocals) and Derek E. Miller (guitar), returned with a new song “Wanna Start A Band?”.
The song is their first music in more than three years since the 2021 album “Texis”.
They wrote the song in 2014 and finally released it.
It was written and produced by Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller.
The band lead singer Alexis Krauss said of the song, “In 2008 while eating at a restaurant in Brooklyn with my mom, our server, Derek, wasted very little time asking me, essentially, 'Wanna start a band?' Hard to believe that almost 17 years later we are still hyped and obsessively making records together. Derek started messing with the riff for this song around 2014 - it needed a lot of work, but a spark was there. We had a band by then but didn’t know how long it would last. For us, this song is a reminder of how we started, but it’s also the first part of a new story we want to tell - more on that very soon! We hope you will come along for the ride.”- Derek E. Miller shared on social media, “Okayy here we go...we are EXTREMELY hyped to kick off 2025 with our new single “Wanna Start A Band?” A lot has happened since you last heard from us…Alexis became a MOM. I (Derek) am continuing to devour tons of music at irresponsible volumes and the two of us are still obsessively making records together. ALSO we're going on tour in North America in May and June and bringing the awesome Sophie Hunter.”
