JoJo Releases New EP “NGL”
American singer-songwriter JoJo released her fourth EP “NGL” on January 24, 2025 via BMG.
The EP is her first body of work in four years since the 2021 album “Trying Not to Think About It”.
Also, it is the first release under her new label BMG.
The EP comprises 8 songs, produced by Farrago, NoiseClub, The Rascals, RELYT, Ron “Neff-U” Feemster and Scott Bruzenak.
The new project echoes many of the themes covered in her New York Times Best Selling memoir “Over The Influence”, which was released on September 17, 2024 via Hachette Books.
The EP title is short for “Not Gonna Lie”. She writes in the introduction to her memoir, “Here's what I know: I've never been good at playing games, but I'm great at telling the truth.”
JoJo said, “NGL is about embracing my truth unapologetically. It's a snapshot of where I am now-not just as an artist, but as a woman who's learned to trust herself again. I've poured my soul into these songs.”- JoJo said of the EP, “We made these songs while I was in a season of simultaneously trying to hold on and let go. Inspired by the energy of living in a new city and being truly unattached for the first time ever (no romantic entanglements or record label) sparked a tinge of fear, but mostly a huge wave of relief and excitement. It felt like the time to do something with the rollercoaster of emotions and make some music. Thank you to my friends and fam who made this with me, especially Theron 'Neff-U' Feemster, Randy Jackson, and Lil' Eddie- who were always quick to offer a pep talk, indulge me in an inspiration brainstorm, and join me in turning over every stone to see if we liked what we found underneath.”
She added, “My journey to self-love has looked a lot of different ways and it's had plenty of starts, stops, twists and turns. NGL, I'm just out here. Finding my way.” -
JoJo embarks on “Too Much To Say Tour” in support of the EP. American R&B singer-songwriter EMMY MELÍ will be supporting the tour.
The tour kicks off at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, TN on February 22 and will conclude at Mighty Hoopla 2025 in London, UK on May 31, 2025.
