Shriya Releases Debut EP “In a box”
Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Shriya released her debut EP “In a box” on January 24, 2025.
The EP is a collection of ballads for those experiencing heartbreak, loss, or personal transitions.
This collection captures a range of raw and honest emotions, through its reflective and openhearted approach.
She began writing these songs at age 16, and the collection serves as a deeply personal chronicle of her journey into young adulthood.
Her lyrics address the challenges of being an independent artist and the pressure to meet constant expectations.
The EP comprises 4 songs, produced by Hersh Desai and Yohan Marshall. All songs were written by Shriy.
Shriya said of the EP, “I've always been a private person. Releasing this EP felt like peeling off layers of myself, exposing parts of my life I usually keep hidden.”
She continued, "Music is the one thing that keeps me going. It's always there when I need it."- Shriya explained about some tracks for the EP.

“It's a powerful anthem for anyone who has ever felt alone in their battles. In life, we've all experienced someone we love, breaking our trust in different ways. Whether it's as a child when your mom lied to you about buying you candy, or in a relationship when you find out about your partner's infidelity, similar to in this song.
“Creating this song has been an incredible journey. It all began when I was 16, after my first heartbreak. I needed an outlet for my feelings, and music became that escape. I reached out toYohan Marshall to collaborate and produce this track. There's nothing quite like seeing your vision come to life. I started with just a demo of rough piano and vocals, but Yohan elevated it to a whole new level!!” -
“I'm not alright”
“Positive self talk isn't always the easiest. That's something I address in my latest song, the 2nd of my EP, 'I'm not alright'. Relief can feel fleeting, and that's okay. Pain sometimes feels permanent, and that's okay too. Just know that it's okay not to feel okay :) I hope this song brings you a sense of comfort, hugs you, and reminds you that you're not alone in your battles.” - source : Apple Music
