Aitch & Bou Premiere New Song “Raving In The Studio” on BBC Radio 1
British rapper Aitch and Manchester-based DJ Bou teamed up to premiere a new song “Raving In The Studio” on BBC Radio 1's Dance Party with Danny Howard.
For Aitch, it is his first venture into drum and bass territory drum and bass territory. Aitch and Bou recorded the song at NQ House in Manchester.
The song samples “Feel Good Inc.” featuring De La Soul, which was released by British virtual band Gorillaz in 2005.
It was written by Aitch, Bou, Trugoy the Dove, Danger Mouse, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. Produced by Bou and Shapes.
The accompanying music video was directed by Kelvin Jones.
The clip features footage from Bou's set during the DNB All Stars show at Depot Mayfield in Manchester as part of The Warehouse Project series last month.- Bou told Danny Howard about the song, “I'm from the drum and bass world and he's from the rap world. Just combining the two together is just such a special thing, and it just brings all of my fans and his fans together. And it's just like, it's just fresh and new and exciting innit. That's just how I look at it.”
Aitch said of sampling, “Couple years ago, I had a studio session with Damon (Gorillaz's Damon Albarn). And we made a couple songs, whatever nothing came of it. That was that not spoke to him. Since then, me and Bou have made this tune, and he's absolutely super blessed us. It's his original vocal. He loves the song, the original vocal, and he's a legend.” - source : BBC Radio 1
