Gregory Darling Releases New Song “A New Dream” featuring Julian Lennon
American produce and songwriter Gregory Darling teamed up with British singer-songwriter Julian Lennon, who is known as a son of The Beatles' John Lennon, again to release a new song “A New Dream” on January 24, 2025.
Gregory Darling and Julian Lennon have worked together for Julian Lennon's albums “Photograph Smile” in 1988, “Everything Changes” on 2011 and “Jude” in 2022.
Originally, the song was written as “New Dream” in the South of France in collaboration with their dear friend Anthony Caligagan and was included on Gregory Darling's 2006 debut album “Shell”. This time, they reimagined it with a fresh production.
The message of the song resonates with universal themes of dreams, fears, and anxieties we all share, serving as a ray of hope that the impossible can be achieved.
The track was written by Anthony Caligagan, Gregory Darling, and Julian Lennon. Produced by Gregory Darling.
The accompanying animated music video was created by Charlie Warner.- Gregory Darling said of the song, “I'm helplessly waiting, clocking the days of my innocent youth, oh I'm hopelessly romanticizing everything black and white, all the colors seem dark in the night, I need a new dream to get by on. I wanted to put a new twist on the original production and arrangement, so I locked myself in the studio and being subjected to Covid lockdown, it felt appropriate. I created a new beat, replaced the strings with synths, added guitars, bass, BV's and then Ian Kelosky mixed it, giving it a fresh sound, where the vocals really pop out.”
