  • Mike Posner Announces New Album “The Beginning”, Shares New Song “Is It Just Me?”

  • American singer-songwriter Mike Posner has announced his upcoming fifth studio album “The Beginning” will be released on February 21, 2025 via Arista Records.

The album is his first project in five years since the 2020 album “Operation: Wake Up”.
Also it is the first release under his new label Arista Records.
From the album, he unveiled a new song “Is It Just Me?” on January 24, 2025.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “I'm Not Dead Yet” and “Beautiful Day”.
He sings to a love interest who’s turned his world upside down in the best way imaginable.
The track was written by Jake Torrey, Matthew Musto, Mike Posner, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, and Tor Erik Hermansen. Produced by Stargate.

“'Is It Just Me’ is a wild, psychedelic testament to falling in love,” Mike Posner said of the song. “As much as I have benefited from psychedelic compounds, nothing has been more powerful than good old-fashioned love. When I hold my beloved in my arms, I can literally feel the oxytocin releasing into my bloodstream. Even when we’re apart, I sometimes feel high for hours, or days, on end.”
  • The new album comprises 12 songs, produced by Mike Posner, Isaiah Tejada, Ray Goren, Sir Nolan, Lenno, and Stargate.
Mike Posner describes the album as a reclamation of self and an album that points directly at the rainbows of life, while acknowledging that the sun does not always shine.

Mike Posner said of the album, “The Beginning is an album I wrote at The End. The end of depression. The end of self-pity. The end of pretending I wasn’t who I really am. It’s the soundtrack to my transformation from depressed to alive. Here I am, World. I am joy. I am faith. I am love.”

  • He continued, “The Beginning is a reclamation of self, period. The Beginning is an album that points directly at the rainbows of life, while acknowledging that the sun does not always shine. It isn’t just a pump-me-up album, although there are pump-me-up moments. It’s much deeper than that. It’s the transformation of pain into joy. It’s the transmutation of hardship and spiritual pain into service and devotion. It’s a step into faith. That’s what this album means to me. And I hope it will serve you on your journey as well.”
