messier Releases New Song “Baskervilles”
Finnish indie rock duo messier, consisting of Lauri Huumonen and Antti Orajärvi, released a new song “Baskervilles” on January 17, 2025.
The song is the fourth single off of their upcoming sophomore album “Stream of Guilty Consciousness”, following “Yee-Haw”, “Can I Pet Your Face?”, and “What Would Jesus Do?”.
The track is a gripping exploration of the human tendency to catastrophize.
It was written by Lauri Huumonen. The duo recorded the track with producer Valtteri Väänänen at Lammaskallion Audio.
Lauri Huumonen said of the song, “'Baskervilles' embodies the themes of the album perfectly. It’s about how we can become addicted to misery through constant catastrophizing-how imagining the worst scenarios undermines our well-being and becomes self-perpetuating.”
The new album is expected to be released in 2025. It is a profound exploration of solemnity interwoven with intense, desperate bursts of emotion, creating a dynamic that is both surprising and cohesive.- Photo by Miikka Niemelä
