British singer-songwriter Shura is back. She has announced her upcoming third studio album “I Got Too Sad For My Friends” will be released on May 30. 2025 via [PIAS] Recordings.
The album is her first body of work in six years since the 2019 album “Forevher”.
The new album, comprises 11 songs, featuring guest appearances from Cassandra Jenkins, Helado Negro, and Becca Mancari.
Shura worked with producer Luke Smith on the album.
From the album, she released the first single called “Recognise” on January 22, 2025.
The track was written by Aleksandra Lilah Denton and Paul Hammer. Produced by Luke Smith and Shura.- Shura said of the song, “Arthur Russell sang 'being sad is not a crime' and yet somehow when I went through a period of despair in January I felt that the best course of action was to hide myself away from the world. I think Recognise is a song about coming out the other side of that feeling. Slowly coming to the understanding that everything is ok. And that ok - is good. That I can sit quietly, read a book, sip a coffee and deeply appreciate being here and everything that has happened and has yet to happen...”
