  • Nina Nesbitt Releases New Song “Enough”

  • Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt released a new song “Enough” on January 22, 2025 via her own label Apple Tree Records.

She teased the song earlier this month.
The song is the follow-up to a cover of “Caledonia”, which was released last week.
Also, it is her first solo music since the 2024 album “Mountain Music”. She wrote the song during making the fourth studio album.
On the track, she worked with lain Archer, who is co-writer and producer for her debut album “Peroxide”.
The track was written by Nina Nesbitt, and produced by Peter Miles.

Nina Nesbitt said of the song, “I wrote it the same day as I wrote Painkiller, which is one of the tracks on my latest album, Mountain Music. I remember writing Painkiller in the morning, on my terribly out of tune piano, then listening to the instrumental on repeat during the road trip to Brighton. Scrambling to voicenote the Ivrics as I finished them. I finally arrived at my writing session with lain Archer. I hadn't seen him in years but lain had been a very important collaborator of mine in the past. We wrote one of my biggest songs (Stay Out) together and many more on my first album. I wrote most of Mountain Music alone but something told me I should try writing with lain again as I returned to my folky roots.”
  • She continued, “I had a whole notes page on my phone full of an idea I wanted to try. Self esteem and body image are such huge topics and I find them hard to articulate for that reason. Everyone's experience is so different and I never want it to come across as cringe lol. I talked with lain about growing up in - and now moving away from the pop music industry and how much it had affected the way I saw myself in my teens and 20s. The unattainable beauty standards, the constant comparison, the things people say online etc. Being naturally underweight and people constantly telling me to 'eat a burger' or that I look unwell. Of course, it's not just in the music industry but also the society we live in that sends these messages we are not enough. That we need to change. Buy this. Be this. Do this. And you'll be enough. But it feels like a never ending cycle sometimes.”

  • She added, “Before turning 30 last year, I spent a lot of time reflecting on the last decade and realised that I actually don't give a fuck anymore lol! I feel like I'm truly happy in my own skin. I don't care about the things I used to care about. I'd rather spend time engrossed in a creative task or making positive changes than worrying about how I look and oh my god, it is so so liberating. I can't believe I ever wasted time on it. Moving out of London to the countryside allowed me a lot of time in nature. lain and I got on to the subject of birds and trees and air and how in quite a comical way, they literally don't care if we have a full face of make up on or are having a bad hair day or have a billion streams or not. A crow doesn't care what anti aging skincare you're using. A silver birch doesn't care about your dark circles. It really cracked me up and weirdly put things in perspective. We're here and we're alive and that is actually so so so enough! So this is a song to remind me and hopefully you :)”
