Nova Twins Premieres New Song “Monsters” on BBC Radio 1
London-based rock duo Nova Twins, consisting of Amy Love (vocals/guitar) and Georgia South (bass), is back.
The band premiered a new song “Monsters” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is their first music in three years since the 2022 album “Supernova”.
Also, the track is the first single off of their upcoming third studio album, which is expected to be released later this year via Marshall Records.
The track was written by Amy Love and Georgia South. Produced by Rich Costey.
The accompanying music video was directed by Harry Lindley.
The duo said of the song, “'Monsters' is about awakening to and understanding your mental health. Growing up, we often look outward, absorbing what life throws at us. Over time, the good and bad experiences start to settle. Before learning to navigate these feelings, you may face self-loathing, anxiety and a fear of who you've become. Confronting these emotions, breathing through them, and opening up to someone can help. Many people struggle with mental health, and this song aims to show vulnerability and let our audience know they're not alone.”- Amy Love told Jack Saunders about the song, “We all have those kind of inner demons, or inner monsters, shall we say. And it's just about like just facing them. And also there's like a power and vulnerability. Because I feel like we've always come at it from like 'Supernova' strength, but I feel like with this going forward, it's just a little bit more like self reflective and a little bit more honest, because want to relate to everybody.”

She said of the album, “I think we just wanted to be honest and not like, we took the pressure off it. There was a point where we started making the record was a bit like pressure. Actually, no, let's just do what we've always done and just enjoy what we do. And again, it's the same thing. There's no not like simps on this album what you're hearing is very electronic, but it is bass, like on the chorus, you hear that crazy sound, and it's like guitar, and it's all just like our live instruments how you see us live.”
The duo worked with producer Rich Costey on the album, “We worked with Rich Costey on this one. So we went to America. We hadn't met him, but we spoke on zoom, which was kind of weird. And then we just flew out to Vermont, and we went to an eclipse party to watch the solo clips. And we just went to Eric Valentine's studio, watching the eclipse with Rich and it was all bit surreal in the middle of the woods. And it was beautiful, and it was odd, but it was a great start to the album. It felt really good.”
