Nina Nesbitt Covers “Caledonia”
Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt has announced her brand new song “Enough” will be released on January 22, 2025.
Ahead of releasing the new song, she released a cover of “Caledonia” on January 15, 2025.
The song is a modern Scottish folk ballad written by Dougie MacLean in 1977 and has been covered by various artists.
It is often dubbed Scotland's unofficial national anthem.
Nina Nesbitt said of the song, “I released a cover of Caledonia this week... As someone who moved away from home to chase my dreams at 17... And still misses it every day. This song was always spoken to me. I've learnt that home is a feeling I can keep with me wherever I am... I forever be flying the flag for Scotland and getting in trouble with my Scottish humour lol. I've loved recording your messages this week... and hearing what this song means to you.”- She continued, “I've been playing it live at some of my Scottish shows and heard your requests for a recorded version... so here we are. This song means the absolute world to me so I hope you love it! P.S nothing beats a Scottish chippy.”
She added, “It really cuts deep for me and it's an honour to join the list of Scottish artists who have covered it.” - source : Apple Music
