Lindsey Rose Black Releases New Song “Wrong Side”
Los Angeles-Texas-based singer-songwriter Lindsey Rose Black will her upcoming debut album “The Myth of the American Cowboy” later this year.
From the album, she unveiled a new song “Wrong Side” along with a music video on January 17, 2025.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “One Of Your Girls” and “Whisk Miss”.
Lindsey Rose Black wrote the song with producer John Velasquez.
Lindsey Rose Black said of the song, “‘Wrong Side’ was inspired by my favorite Rumi poem, 'The Guesthouse,' and, I hope, offers a sense of solace and camaraderie in uncertain times. When it came to visuals, I immediately pictured the rodeo clowns I grew up watching as a child—their sad painted faces amidst extremely colorful attire and wild circumstances—and knew it was my turn to become the clown. So much of my art explores the juxtaposition of light and dark, levity and depth, absurdity and authenticity… it all just clicked.”- She added, “'Wrong Side' is a tender lil bud I wrote several years ago with John V and drum magic via Matthew Frazier. Writing it felt like an exhale, and I so hope it offers a bit of heart amidst all the uncertainty in our world. I like to think it’s a sister song to 'Whisk Miss' - how humor and heaviness are often two sides of the same story. Thank you to the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo clowns of my childhood. Your wholehearted embrace of the tragi-comic absurdity of being human inspires me everyday.”
