Irish rock band Inhaler, consisting of Eli Hewson (vocals/guitar), Robert Keating (bass), Josh Jenkinson (guitar) and Ryan McMahon (drums), premiered a new song “A Question of You” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Sian Eleri.
The song is the third single off of their upcoming third studio album “Open Wide”, which is set to be released on February 7, 2025.
The track features London gospel choir, House Gospel Choir. They recorded it at Rock Studios in London.
It was written by Elijah Hewson, Josh Jenkinson, Robert Keating, and Ryan McMahon. Produced by Kid Harpoon.
The band told Sian Eleri about the song, “It was kind of the catalyst for this album. it was like the first demo we had, and it was kind of a groove that was a bit different stuff we've done. So just kind of led the way, but we're very proud of it.”
They continued, “We were recording in London in Rock Studios, Camden. And a producer who was thinking it was a good idea to get choir on one of the tracks. So we met them, and they were just such a, like, cool vibe.”- The new album comprises 13 songs. produced by Kid Harpoon. The band wrote 30 songs for the album in six months, and then they finished 13 songs.
The band said, “This was the first time we actually had that kind of ideal scenario where we just took six months off and just the four of us just hung out for ages and music. And it went really well, not in the sense that. I mean, I think the album's good, but I think it felt really good. I think that felt like his big success for us. Yeah, we got a lot of joy out of just like, slowing down and just being together and writing music together.” -
Eli Hewson said of the album, “When I listen to the album, I hear us finding a new perspective on our music and our lives. I think that’s what this album is to us. It’s not an exit but an entry. These were songs we needed to hear at this point in our lives, so we made them ourselves. It was in every sense a complete labour of love. We hope you feel that and maybe hear some laughter spilling onto the mics somewhere too.. It’s yours soon though.” - source : BBC Radio 1
