CocoRosie Announces New Album “Little Death Wishes”, Shares New Song “Cut Stitch Scar”
American sister duo CocoRosie, consisting of Sierra Casady and Bianca Casady, has announced their upcoming eighth studio album “Little Death Wishes” will be released on March 28, 2025.
From the album, the duo released a new song “Cut Stitch Scar” on January 15, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Least I Have You” released last October.
Written while Bianca Casady was gripped in heartbreak, the song mirrors the false starts of grief, as the song barrels between sparsity and density.
The accompanying music video was directed by CocoRosie themselves.
The duo said of the song, “'Cut Stitch Scar' touches the very core of our universal waywardness and the precarious and precious nature of being human.”- The new album is their first LP in five years since the 2020 album “Put the Shine On” and comprises 12 songs, featuring a guest appearance from American rapper Chance the Rapper.
Also it is the first release under their new label Joyful Noise.
On the album, the duo tells a kaleidoscopic story of the generational hardship of women and the shattered realities of their lives, the precarious and precious nature of being human, of being done wrong by love, and a final wish to be unbroken.
The duo shared, “Basically, we got to keep on keeping on with creating our own realities and strengthening our homegrown communities. This brings us to the message that we want to share.” -
