Perfume Genius Announces New Album “Glory”, Shares New Song “It's a Mirror”
American singer-songwriter Mike Hadreas, aka Perfume Genius has announced his seventh studio album “Glory” will be released on March 28, 2025.
The album comprises 11 songs, featuring a guest appearance from New Zealand indie folk singer-songwriter Aldous Harding, produced by long-time producer Blake Mills.
Also, in addition to his life partner and keyboardist Alan Wyffels, some studio musicians joined in the album, the likes of Meg Duffy on guitar, Greg Uhlmann on guitar, Tim Carr on drums, and Jim Keltner on drums.
From the album, he released the first single called “It's a Mirror” on January 15, 2025.
The song is accompanied by the Cody Critcheloe-directed music video.
The track was written by Mike Hadreas, and produced by Blake Mills.- Mike Hadreas said of the song, “I wake up overwhelmed even when nothing is going on. I spend the rest of the day trying to regulate, which I prefer to do at home alone with my thoughts. But why? They are mostly bad. They also haven't really changed for decades. I wrote 'It's a Mirror' while stuck in one of these isolating loops, seeing that something different and maybe even beautiful is out there but not quite knowing how to venture out. I have a lot more practice keeping the door closed.”
