Joy Crookes Returns with New Song “Pass the Salt” featuring Vince Staples
London-based singer-songwriter Joy Crookes is back with her brand new song “Pass the Salt”.
The song is her first music in four years since the 2021 debut album “Skin”.
This time, she teamed up with American rapper Vince Staples on the track.
The track was written by Barney Lister, Jonny Lattimer, Joy Crookes, and Vince Staples. Produced by Joy Crookes and Blue May.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jake Erland.
She recorded the song with Nathan Allen on drums, Oli Savill on percussion, Alex Bonfanti on bass, Harvey Dweller on synths, and Blue May on synths. Also she played organ.
Joy Crookes said of the song, “Pass the Salt is about a woman I know vaguely, who is nothing short of an arsehole, who got jealous and started spreading rumours about me. The song is basically me squaring up (musically) and being like ok bitch if u have something to say come say it to my face.”- source : Apple Music
