Olly Alexander Releases New Song “When We Kiss”
London-based singer-songwriter Olly Alexander, formerly Years & Years, will release his debut solo album “Polari” on February 7, 2025 via Polydor Records.
From the album, he unveiled the fourth single called “When We Kiss” on January 10, 2025.
The song is accompanied by a music video directed by Colin Solal Cardo, serves as a sequel to the video for “Polari”.
The track was written by Danny L Harle and Olly Alexander. Produced by Danny L Harle and Finn Keane.
Olly Alexander said of the song, “'When We Kiss' is an epic love song about a difficult moment in a relationship, when you don't know whether you should break up or if you should stay together forever. I wanted this song to reflect those conflicted feelings, all the pain and ecstasy of loving someone. I believe heartbreak and synthesizers are made for each other and I had the best time making this with my Polari partner Danny L Harle. Our aim was to take the listener on a rapturous journey of heartfelt emotion, from anguish to euphoria and back again.”- The album comprises 13 songs, produced by Danny L Harle and Finn Keane. This marks his first project under his own name, Olly Alexander.
The album title “Polari” means a coded slang. Originating around Europe and the Romani community as early as the 1600s, Polari became a secret language for homosexuals and other marginalized groups during the twentieth century. - source : Apple Music
