Arny Margret Releases New Song “Day Old Thoughts”
Icelandic singer-songwriter Arny Margret released the third single called “Day Old Thoughts” from her upcoming sophomore album “I Miss You, I Do” on January 9, 2025.
The new album is set to be released on March 7, 2025 via One Little Independent Records.
She recorded the song at 'Kiddi' Kristinn Jónsson's studio in Reykjavík, her home away from home, with producer Kristinn Jonsson.
The accompanying music video was directed by Guðmundur Kristinn Jónsson.
Arny Margret said of the song, “This was recorded here in Iceland last fall. The first thing we tried to do was get together the band and do this one slightly differently. It says a lot of things, it's honest.”- The new album comprises 10 songs, which she recorded within a full-band format unlike her debut album. Produced by Andrew Berlin, Kristinn Jonsson, and Josh Kaufman.
Arny Margret said of the album, “The main thing I wanted for this album was for it to be different. When I listen to the last one, I feel like it's mainly about me and the guitar. It's very stripped back.” -
She continued, “I wanted to do more - I love the banjo, the fuller sound, I love the American sound, so recording it all over there made a big difference. I've always worked with the same people in the same places, so I never thought I could do this - work with all these people who record with some of my favourite musicians. I really admire everyone on this. And pushing myself out of my comfort zone, that's quite rewarding.”
