Heartworms Releases New Song “Extraordinary Wings”
London-based post-punk singer-songwriter Heartworms released a new song “Extraordinary Wings” on January 9, 2025.
The track is the third single off of her upcoming debut album “Glutton For Punishment”, which is set to be released on February 7, 2025 via Speedy Wunderground.
It was written by Jojo Orme and produced by Dan Carey.
The song is accompanied by the Gilbert Trejo-directed music video, featuring Jane Carey, Orla Carey, Lottie Gimlette, Sarah Jay, Willa Mackenzie Smith, Sadie Sudrot, and Jane Wroe-Wright.
Heartworms said of the video, “The video for my new single 'Warplane', shot by the inimitable Gilbert Trejo. There's no one I trust more to bring the story behind the lyrics to life and honour those that inspired the track.”- The album comprises 9 songs, produced Dan Carey.
Heartworms said of the album, “With my EP, people kind of pigeonholed me into post-punk. I was like, 'Cool, I can do that, but I can also do way more' - I can do post-punk, but I can also be poppy and catchy, and this album represents that. I think people might be surprised when they hear it.” -
She added, “I've been chastised my whole life; made to feel as if I didn't belong, punished for not fitting into a perfect image of how a growing woman should be. When you're told something enough times you start to believe it. I often find myself locked into an unhealthy cycle of craving harsh discipline, greedy for the familiarity it brings but terrified of the consequences – better the devil you know. But this album doesn't just reflect my own experiences; it reflects those of the people in my life and the stories of others that I think need to be heard.”
