Destroyer Announces New Album “Dan's Boogie”, Shares New Song “Bologna” featuring Fiver
Canadian indie rock band Destroyer, consisting of Dan Bejar (vocals/guitar), John Collins (bass), Nicolas Bragg (guitar), Ted Bois (keyboards), David Carswell (guitar), JP Carter (trumpet) and Joshua Wells (drums), has announced their upcoming fourteenth studio album “Dan's Boogie” will be released on March 28, 2025.
The album is their first LP in three years since the 2022 album “Labyrinthitis” and comprises 9 songs.
From the album, the band released the first single called “Bologna” on January 8, 2025.
The song features Canadian singer-songwriter Simone Schmidt, aka Fiver.
The track was written by Destroyer, and produced by John Collins.
The accompanying music video was directed by David Galloway.
The band lead singer Dan Bejar said of the song, “I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna’. I struggled singing the first and third verses, the most important parts of the song. They needed gravity and grit. The threat of disappearing needed to be real. So I called Simone.”- The band said of the video, “How do you begin a Dear John letter? I suppose there are lots of online tools available to anyone with a phone that can help you get that type of thing started. In fact, you can learn all kinds of stuff with the internet. It’s amazing. How to pick locks, how to access your neighbours WiFi, how to meet a 'challenge', how to put on makeup. Makeup is pretty big these days, hey? You can also definitely find tips and tricks to help you start a whole new life if the one you have doesn’t seem to cut the mustard. Rather, Bologna”
