Kentucky Releases New Song “Runway”
Canadian singer-songwriter Jordan Holman, aka Kentucky released his brand new single called “Runway” on January 5, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to “Santa Fe”, which was released last month.
Both songs will appear on his upcoming debut album “Second Chance Music”, which is set to be released on May 25, 2025.
The track showcases introspection and emotional depth, offering a raw and intimate glimpse into his reflections on change, love, and personal growth.
It was written and produced by Kentucky.
Kentucky said of the song, “Runway is a big departure, if you will. In the first 9 songs I released I was finding myself musically in a very specific way. Finding myself in all the parts that come AFTER the song is written. The songwriting journey alone is endless and vast, and a topic worthy of daily consideration.”- He continued, “Runway is about coming into focus. Painfully bringing one's self from the scattershot approach of finding out what works in their inner world, and starting to live that inner world out loud in the outer world. Almost too worn out to continue after all of it...but relying on a certainty that one can make it. Not in need of distance from love or people. Not in need of space either on the earth or in the house. Just in need of a little Runway. A little time to get going. And once up, a little time to come down every once in a while so that the highs don't get so high.”

He added, “I work alone on Kentucky's songs with only one exception to date, from writing all the way through to mastering, so I've been learning a lot. I still am. Arrangement in the studio, engineering, micing instruments, signal chains, mixing, mastering…all things I never did once in my entire career as a musician until late 2023. I have relied upon the advisement of a close friend when I can bend his ear for an hour at a time in between his globe-trotting career as a legendary engineer and studio designer, internet research, trial and error, stubbornness, doggedness, and the beautiful presence, perspective, and killer ear of my wife Jodi Dawn. I also find that all of the hundreds of thousands of hours I have spent sitting in a chair, staring at a wall, and absorbing every single detail of the music I'm listening to are coalescing during this period of intense growth and learning....which brings me to Runway.”
