Franz Ferdinand Releases New Song “Hooked”
Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand, consisting of Alex Kapranos (lead vocals/lead guitar), Bob Hardy (bass), Julian Corrie (keyboards), Dino Bardot (rhythm guitar) and Audrey Tait (drums), will release their upcoming sixth studio album “The Human Fear” this Friday (January 10th).
From the album, the band released the third and final pre-release single called “Hooked” on January 6, 2024.
The band first performed the song live during a show at Strathpeffer Spa Pavilion last September.
Also, they played another as-yet-unreleased track from the album during the tour, “Bar Lonely”, which recently received its television debut on CBS Saturday Sessions.
The track was written by Alex Kapranos, and Julian Corrie. Produce by Mark Ralph.
The band frontman Alex Kapranos said of the song, “Sliding into midnight, it’s a nighttime prowl of a song. If we all have the human fear, then that’s alright when you’re hooked. I thought I knew what love was... but then I met you.”- The new album comprises 11 songs, produced by Mark Ralph. It is their first studio album with drummer Audrey Tait, who replaced original member Paul Thomson in 2021.
Alex Kapranos said of the album, “Making this record was one of the most life-affirming experiences I’ve had, but it’s called The Human Fear. Fear reminds you that you’re alive. I think we all are addicted in some way to the buzz it can give us. How we respond to it shows how we are human. So here’s a bunch of songs searching for the thrill of being human via fears. Not that you’d necessarily notice on first listen.” -
